Responsible gambling

The offshore sites we cover sit outside your national self-exclusion scheme. If you need to stop, this page tells you how, with the real helplines for each market.

updated

codie.gg covers offshore casinos, which by definition sit outside the self-exclusion schemes that exist to help people stop. That makes this the most important page on the site for anyone who is not sure they are still in control. If that is you, start here, not with a ranking.

The one thing to understand

The sites we review are not connected to GamStop, Spelpaus, ROFUS, CRUKS, BetStop or any other national self-exclusion register. A site being willing to let you play is not a sign that playing is safe for you. It is often the opposite: the sites most eager to take a bet with no checks are exactly the ones a self-exclusion scheme exists to keep you away from.

If you have used a national scheme to stop gambling, no site on codie.gg is a workaround, and none of our rankings are for you. That is not a disclaimer, it is the plain truth of what these sites are.

Helplines by market

If you need to talk to someone now, these are the real services for each market we cover. They are free and confidential.

The tools that actually work

Self-exclusion tools built into an offshore casino are self-service and easy to undo, which makes them the weakest option. The tools that hold up are the ones outside the operator's control.

A bank gambling block stops gambling transactions at the source, regardless of which site you use. Most banks now offer one, and it is harder to reverse than any switch inside a casino account. Your national self-exclusion scheme, where one exists, closes the entire licensed market at once. Blocking software on your phone and computer closes the rest. Used together, these three are far harder to get around than any single tool, and that difficulty is the point: a good self-exclusion is one that a bad night cannot undo.

Setting limits before you need them

If you do play, set the operator's own deposit limit from the start, when it is an easy decision rather than a desperate one. A limit set on day one is a limit you will not have to claw back later. Decide in advance what you can afford to lose, treat it as the price of entertainment, and stop when it is gone. The moment chasing losses enters your thinking is the moment to close the tab and use one of the numbers above.

Age

Gambling is for adults only, 18 and over across every market we cover. If you are under 18, none of this is for you.
