Privacy notice

What codie.gg collects, what it does not, and what happens to your data when you click through to an operator. Short, because we collect little.

updated

This notice explains how codie.gg handles data. It is short because the site is a static publication that collects very little, and it is written to be read rather than to satisfy a lawyer. codie.gg is published by Codie Media, which is the controller for the limited data described here.

What we collect

codie.gg is a static site with no user accounts, no logins and no comment system, so there is nothing for you to sign up to and no profile for us to build. We do not ask for your name, email or any personal detail, because there is nothing on the site that requires them.

Where analytics are switched on, we use a single privacy-light measurement that counts page views in aggregate: which pages are read and roughly where readers arrive from, with no individual profile of you and no cross-site tracking. You can opt out by blocking analytics in your browser or by sending a Do Not Track signal, and declining does not stop you reading the site.

Cookies

The site aims to run with the minimum cookies necessary. A full account of what is set, and your choices over it, is on the cookie notice.

When you click through to an operator

When you click a "Visit site" button, you leave codie.gg and arrive at a third-party operator through our redirect. From that point you are on the operator's site, under the operator's own privacy policy, which we do not control. The redirect records that a click happened, for commission purposes, but the account you may open and the data you give the operator are between you and them. Read the operator's own privacy policy before you register.

Your rights

Where data-protection law gives you rights over personal data, such as access, correction or deletion, those rights apply to whatever limited data this site holds. Because the site collects so little, in most cases there is nothing individual to act on. To make a request, or to ask anything about how the site handles data, email privacy@codie.gg.

If this notice changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes will also be noted on the change log.
